Have you ever wondered where to find great local honey, or farm fresh eggs and vegetables in your own neighborhood? Have you thought about supporting your local community and economy with your everyday food choices?
Well, if any of those thoughts have crossed your mind, this festival is aimed at you.
The Local Food Festival is a celebration of the wonderful variety of food that Wheat Ridge producers, growers, and farmers have to offer and an opportunity for people in the community to learn more and discover where they can find these local food options.
This is not your typical festival however. Don’t expect face-painters and carnival rides because this festival is more about the closeness of community and celebrating the food that brings people together. It’s a get together of local food producers, growers and farmers that allows you to get up close and personal with your food. Come sample products, learn more about the people who grow/make/harvest your food, sign up for CSA’s (community supporting agriculture), and find out where to buy local meats, eggs, honey, vegetables, fruit, breads, preserves, and more!
Today people care about where their food comes from and want to understand why their food choices matter; for health, community and environmental reasons. The Local Food Festival is dedicated to championing, supporting and promoting the best local food available.
Join us at the Local Food Festival and join Live Local Harvest and Mountain Phoenix Community School in promoting local food in Wheat Ridge!
