WR2020 offers several Neighborhood Activity grants for residents of Wheat Ridge. Get to know your neighbors and help tidy up your neighborhood with the help of the Wheat Ridge 2020 Dumpster Days grant program. Dumpster Days is your chance to get your neighbors to work together and fill a dumpster with all of the accumulated items on your property and in the neighborhood. WR2020 will provide a dumpster for one weekend with approved applications.
The Neighborhood Block Party Grant program is another program to help neighbors get to know one another and to strengthen Wheat Ridge neighborhoods. Accepted applicants will be notified and will be reimbursed for up to $150 of the costs related to the block party. Alcoholic beverages are not reimbursable and receipts for all requested reimbursements must be provided.
Visit the Wheat Ridge 2020 website for additional information and to download an application for either of these grant programs.

In celebration of Children’s Day, the Wheat Ridge Police Department is partnering with local businesses and the Colorado Department of Transportation to sponsor the 3rd annual Wheat Ridge Child Safety Fair on Saturday, April 27th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The event is for Wheat Ridge residents and is intended to increase community awareness about some of the dangers facing today’s children.
The primary focus of the Safety Fair will be FREE inspection and replacement of child safety seats. There will be bi-lingual car seat inspection technicians on hand to perform child safety seat inspections and educate participants on proper car seat use. Car seats that fail the inspection will be disposed of and replaced for FREE, while supplies last, with car seats that were obtained through a grant from CDOT. While replacement car seats are free, donations for the seats will be accepted.
Residents should bring their bicycles too! There will be a bike rodeo for the children that will teach them how to safely operate their bicycles. Wheat Ridge Cyclery will be conducting FREE bicycle safety inspections and Exempla Lutheran Medical Center donated bicycle helmets that will be distributed for a $1.00 donation.
