About Us
Chartered in 2005, WR2020 is a public, non-profit, corporation with 100 voting stakeholders that represent a cross section of the community.
Members oversee the work of WR2020, and in December 2005 and January 2006, built a slate of candidates forming an initial 17-member Board of Directors.
On February 23, 2006, members of WR2020 elected its first Board of Directors. Shortly thereafter the Board appointed its first Executive Director. Robert Osborn began work as the Wheat Ridge 2020 Executive Director in May 2006.
As WR2020 was being chartered and the membership was developing in late 2005, the Wheat Ridge City Council voted to fund WR2020. As the organization was formalized and moved into new offices in the Spring of 2006, WR2020 has begun the work of encouraging appropriate development in Wheat Ridge, partnering with residents and the private sector, and collaborating with the Mayor, City Council, and adjoining communities like Arvada and Lakewood to reposition Wheat Ridge.
