You are invited to share your thoughts and participate in a General Community Forum on Tuesday, April 24.
In 2011, the Wheat Ridge City Council adopted a revitalization plan for West 38th Avenue from Wadsworth Blvd. to Sheridan Blvd (the "West 38th Avenue Commercial District"). Among the priority recommendations was the creation of a distinctive new brand for the area, and a marketing strategy to activate the district and tell our unique story. Wheat Ridge 2020, Inc. was tasked with supporting the project and recently contracted with Denver-based firms Centro Inc. and Julipp to assist with creation of the district’s new brand identity.
In an effort to engage a cross-section of community stakeholders in the brand development process, the Centro Inc./Julipp team will be hosting several focus groups in Wheat Ridge on Tuesday, April 24 and Wednesday, April 25.
As community member, your input is very important to our ability to create an authentic message that will help promote and attract new investment in the West 38th Avenue Commercial District. I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend a focus group with the Centro Inc./Julipp team on Tuesday, April 24th, 6:30pm – 8:00pm. This interactive focus group session will be about one hour in length and is designed to facilitate candid dialogue about the opportunities and challenges in creating a unified marketing strategy for the W. 38th Avenue Commercial District.
The focus group will be held at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, Carnation Room, 4005 West Kipling, Wheat Ridge. An RSVP is kindly requested by Monday, April 23 at noon via email to Kim at kim

Instead of spending money on 38th between Wadsworth and Sheridan, 38th between Kipling and Youngfield needs to have sidewalks. It was suppose to be done years ago and got sidlined, no money. Kids from Everett Junior High have to walk in dirt or the roadway going home from the school. In the winter it’s even more dangerous with snow. Spending money on the “road diet” is not going to bring people to walk along 38th. There is nothing there to see. That’s a very busy street and changing it down to one lane each way is ridiculous. We’ll be using 32nd to go east from Wadsworth to avoid the accidents it will cause. Very bad decision from our council and mayor. Spend the money to keep kids safe on 38th between Kipling and Youngfield.
