Wheat Ridge voters passed 2A & 2B ballot issues in the 2009 election. Wheat Ridge 2020 had resolved to support these measures and educated members and voters about them.
“We are pleased that 2A & 2B were passed by Wheat Ridge voters,” said Britta Fisher, Executive Director of Wheat Ridge 2020. “Regulating height and density through the zoning code rather than through the city charter puts us in line with other municipalities and opens the door for conversation on appropriate development in key urban renewal areas.”
Fisher remains optimistic but also notes that the current market conditions make it difficult to attract investment. Fisher continued, “It is up to all of us, as citizens, to advocate for development and investments that are appropriate for our community and will move us forward in becoming a sustainable city.”
Wheat Ridge 2020 thanks all of their members and the community for passing these positive next steps in moving Wheat Ridge forward as a vibrant and sustainable community.
