City of Wheat Ridge Announces 2012 Civic Academy Registration

The City of Wheat Ridge has opened registration for the 2012 Civic Academy. The program will take place on Tuesday evenings this fall. The Academy will take place on October 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. each evening. Civic Academy is designed to encourage active participation in local government by the citizens of Wheat Ridge.

The Civic Academy was created to introduce members of the community to the City’s organization, how it works, and emphasizes how citizens can get involved in local government.  The Civic Academy helps increase public awareness of what their local government does for them and how it contributes to their quality of life. With presentations by the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, and various City departments, residents will learn how the organization works to deliver results and is focused on providing a high quality of life in Wheat Ridge.  This year’s program will include a leadership training session focused on the power of resilience in tough times.

Interested parties should fill out an application and submit it by September 14th.
