The 2010 Transit Alliance is moving Denver forward!
Denver is revitalizing our communities with its cutting edge transportation infrastructure. The support of voters and expansion of our regional transit system are evidence that residents of the metropolitan area are interested in transportation and community development. The Transit Alliance Citizens’ Academy
will host a program providing 60 participants the opportunity to understand the complex issues of sustainability, community development and transportation.
This interactive program supports the participants in designing and implementing an action plan that will support public and private funding for transit development. WR2020’s Executive Director Britta Fisher is a graduate of the program and is actively engaging in the sustainability of Wheat Ridge. She recently commented on the program’s effectiveness.
“The Transit Alliance Citizens’ Academy was well-organized, informative and fun. I met great people and was inspired by the action plans of my classmates.”
If you’re committed to contributing to the future of transportation and want to improve the quality of life in the Denver metro area then submit your application for the 2010 Citizens’ Academy by 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010.
Participants selected will be provided scholarships from supporting organizations and/or Transit Alliance.
To be selected participants must be able to attend all 7 sessions beginning on September 8th and continuing on Wednesdays through October 20th 2010. All meetings will be held in the evenings from 6-9 p.m. at the Denver metro chamber of commerce, 1445 Market Street, 5th floor, Denver, CO.
